Obama Goes Rogue

Anyone who hasn’t watched President Obama’s speech on Libya should.  When you do, obviously pay attention to the important foreign policy questions involved, but also keep your ears tuned for a favorite Sarah Palin image snuck into Obama’s speech.

And as I’ve said before, our strength abroad is anchored in our strength here at home.  That must always be our North Star — the ability of our people to reach their potential, to make wise choices with our resources, to enlarge the prosperity that serves as a wellspring for our power, and to live the values that we hold so dear.

The importance of domestic strength is by no means the sole purview of Palin, but the North Star is Palin’s favorite inspirational vision.  Towards the end of her (inevitable) response to the speech on (inevitably) Fox News, Palin makes clear her excitement at the allusion.  Still, one has to wonder if Obama and company slipped it in to get back at Palin for all that “WTF” business.
Coincidence or jab at everyone’s favorite Alaskan?  You be the judge.
